troveshop | The MOP Up: Project Gorgon’s pig dance party (August 7, 2016)

The MMO industry moves along at the speed of information, and sometimes we’re deluged with so much news here at Massively Overpowered that some of it gets backlogged. That’s why there’s The MOP Up: a weekly compilation of smaller MMO stories and videos that you won’t want to miss. Seen any good MMO news? Hit us up through our tips line!

This week one player documented the strangest Project Gorgon “interpretive dance” party you’ll ever see, including a pig in a hat and a deer raving. We’ve got that plus stories and videos from Final Fantasy XI, Elite Dangerous, Dark Age of Camelot, and more, all waiting for you after the break!

Odds and Ends

  • E-sports: An Australian senator is pushing for a bill in the country to declare online e-sports games as “gambling,” saying that they groom kids to spend lots of money. Won’t someone please think of the children? [Thanks Vagabond Sam!]
  • Dragon’s Dogma Online: To help you catch up on the game, Steparu has compiled several videos to show off the new storyline as well as the Alchemist class in action.
  • Skyforge: Another week, another area lore diary. This time it’s the Palon Prototype Factory, where experimental military gear is made.
  • StarCraft: Get ready to fall for this classic game all over again, as Blizzard is remaking StarCraft into a HD version. [Thanks Agemyth!]

How do you sum up the unique spirit of Project Gorgon? We don’t know, but this video takes a stab at it.

Steparu found a new Tree of Savior-like game that’s in open beta called The Tale of Lost City Online. Check out this video and see if it might be right for you:
